Two Christmas fic ideas
I'm working on a cracky Christmas fic for a friend that I've decided to send her Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. Hopefully I could finish it tonight. I want her to read it first. I'm not sure if it'll be good enough, but it won't take me long to write (though I feel pretty tired at the moment so we will see...).
I have another Christmas fic idea that's a standalone, but I'm going to take some ideas from "Intrigue"...some of the ideas (more like characters I suppose) haven't been introduced in the story yet and you don't need to have read "Intrigue" to get what's going on. Of course, the wizarding world will be present (since "Intrigue" is a Harry Potter/Merlin crossover after all); but there won't be any HP characters really...besides an ancestor of Harry's on his father's side. Her name is Celeste Potter, but she has a bit part in the story.
I was sort of inspired by the Christmas Carol Merlin-style fics that have been posted recently. So I'm doing my take on it. It's set in Camelot. Arthur ends up being visited by different Merlins (one old Merlin decades into the future who tells him he'll be visited by different ghosts)...but the ghost of Christmas Present and Christmas Future are the same person because no one volunteered to be Christmas Future so he just did double duty. :p
I don't want to say why exactly Arthur's being visited by the ghosts, but it's a reason that has spawned a ton of fics. I'm just putting a Christmas Carol spin to it.
I think writing this Christmas fic based off "Intrigue" will help me straighten out a few things for "Intrigue". And it'll be nice not to have to worry about continuity since the one-shot isn't taking place in the "Intrigue" universe. I'm just borrowing characters. :)
