I'm so glad you got the chance to read this. ♥ ♥ I'm hoping to finish the entire story by July 15th (the day the last HP movie premieres...yes, the choosing was intentional ;)).
I wanted to do a nod to the book series, so I had to add Will and Lyra. And I thought it'd be cool to have them be magical daredevils. :p They will make future appearances as well. :) Yeah, I'm with you on Lyra doing something reckless to show off (I just recently read a bit in the final book that highlighted that). I imagine that she could do the fast dive that Will did on his dragon too. She was holding back a little bit. ;)
Poor non-daemon Merlin, yes. He has his Arthur though. I plan to get them closer er...as friends. Yes, that's it. ;)
*facepalm* Glad you like the fade-to-blacks. I feel like I should just go for it and write that scene that occurs behind the scenes. *ahem* *is so tentative*
Yeah, the Dark!Arthur will make a few appearances. And Arthur and Krola will return to Merlin and Zlota. Since Merlin is now rather restricted in traveling between worlds with Arthur and Excalibur gone, he can't do much searching for Arthur. :( But they will reunite. Too bad that Merlin doesn't realize that he should stay far away from Arthur (re: the threat of the betrayal that Merlin's unaware of).
I found it easier to write the daemons when Arthur and Merlin were separated. It gave me the chance to focus more on each of their respective bonds with their individual daemons -- versus the four of them all in one room. I enjoyed writing the Arthur and Krola interaction in this chapter. I'm glad that you liked it. *grins*
I'm glad you like Blakeney. Doing the telepathy thing for him works so well, but unfortunately...he could easily use his power against Arthur now. :( I didn't include Blakeney's long backstory here...but that story still holds for the most part. I've decided to just reveal some details here and there about him wherever it seems to fit. His younger twin sisters (the Pristinely Ungifted ones) will make an appearance.
This story is my (now kind of dusty with the long time since I last updated *frowns at self*) gift to you. So I can't resist implementing things that you and I as well enjoy. How can I resist James McAvoy as Charles Xavier? He was so my muse, yes. *nods*
Excalibur = the Subtle Knife is one of my favorite ideas for this story verse. I'm glad I thought of it (not sure if anyone else before me came up with the idea...you never know, but it just fit for me. Too perfect).
Thank you about the name choices. It certainly helps me in writing the daemons with that personal touch. I feel rather emotionally attached to them now. :)
