I'm a bit late in replying - sorry! At the moment it seems like Arthur really just can't win. At least regardless of how the boys feel toward one another at the moment, they know they love one another in the end, and can't stand the thought of being alone. I don't like the thought of one of the boys dying either, although *almost* dying and making the other realize his feelings and/or the fallout isn't necessarily a bad thing. And...that makes me sound like a horrible person. I'm not, really.
I'm glad we've both read DiR - it's so far underrated and you're actually the only other person I know who's read it without my prompting, lol.
