Eleven to be announced tomorrow

:-O

Link to BBC article announcing the news

This is being discussed everywhere, but I have to say when I found this out, I was very surprised. I definitely wasn't expecting it to be announced tomorrow... but better sooner than later! This is my first time waiting for the news since my first Doctor was David Tennant. I'm pretty nervous, but looking forward to a change as well. :-) Though I'm a bit worried considering the companion will probably be completely new too - so a double whammy. *crosses fingers for a good pick*

We'll see if this will be a good belated Christmas present or not! I'm not counting the new Doctor out until I see how he plays the role in his first episodes. But like I'm sure everyone is thinking - there will be fanwank no matter what! Even though this is my first time going through a Doctor transition... there was plenty of fanwank in Harry Potter fandom especially when the last two books came out. I know how ridiculous it can get.

Guess I have to wait and see for now...

I've got my popcorn ready for the wankfest tomorrow! Can't wait to find out who it will be!

It'll definitely be hard to sleep tonight knowing what is coming tomorrow. At least when my friend comes over in a few days, I'll know what'll be the #1 discussion topic. She was pretty upset when she heard the news of Tennant leaving - hopefully the news of who Eleven will be will agree with her.

But you're right - bring on the fanwank! Popcorn sounds good. :)

Going to be at work tomorrow, but will periodically check my email to see who the new Doc is. Probably someone unfamiliar to me and I'll probably end up hating him at first like I hated David Tennant when I suddenly found him as the Doctor and not Christopher Eccy. ("Who the hell...where's Christoper?! Who's this skinny-Barty Crouch Jr.? What happened to my Tall, Dark, and Northern?! Goddamnit, I'm never keeping tabs on this show again!")

Please Paterson Joseph...please Paterson Joseph...

Heh. I love your icon. Totally my next Doctor.

The first I saw of Doctor Who was Series 2, but before that I only saw David Tennant as Barty Crouch Jr. (I thought he was all right there). But my friend kept talking him up - how amazing he was on Doctor Who and when she got me to watch the show, I had to agree with her.

Even after going back and watching Series 1 with Eccleston, I still think Tennant was better. But what I especially loved in Series 1 was the dynamic between Nine and Rose. And I did like how more human Eccleston seemed as the Doctor - it was endearing in a way.

I thought Ten and Rose were too chummy and exclusive with each other - it was almost asking for a heartbreaking ending. Nothing can last forever after all...

I've heard he was rumored as a possible choice. I do remember him in the Series 1 finale. I think he could be a good pick - he seems likable enough. Even though his character in the Bad Wolf/PotW two-parter turned out to be greedy. But I heard that in his other roles, he was pretty good...

This is my first time IN fandom during a regeneration - I've always been outside before. *Is nervous and has a well stocked wank shelter*

No matter what fandom you're in, it seems you can't completely avoid the craziness. I'll just try to be as optimistic as I can about it. :)
