Okay, slightly confused - what is it Arthur's not supposed to know?
I just hinted at it in this chapter, but the secret that Merlin's keeping won't be revealed for a bit. It was intentional that the secret was left obscure in this part. Sorry about the confusion... there was a line in this chapter that alluded to the secret. Not sure if anyone will catch it, but it's there...
Also, how does Morgana's daemon have two forms?
There's a reason for it. :) Same reason Merlin has two daemons as well (a phoenix and a firefly). It'll be explained in a coming chapter...
Glad you liked this part. Of course the other Merlin would find it odd to have souls outside the body - it would seem so exposed that way to him. I couldn't resist Arthur wanting to see his chambers, even though they're not *his* - it makes little difference to him. He misses his big, soft bed. ;)
the hints that Morgana was dead in their original world.
In the previous chapter, Gwen did tell Arthur and Merlin that Morgana fell to her death from the castle ramparts -- before the two left their world. So Morgana's death is still fresh in their minds...literally happening just as they decided to leave the daemon world...
(And seriously, loving Excalibur being the Knife ^_^).
Thank you! I wanted to include Excalibur somehow - and this fit in so well. There's a back story to how Arthur obtains Excalibur, actually.
