2008 Beijing Olympics - Nastia Liukin :)

FOR THE WIN! :-)

I was planning on posting this yesterday, but it was getting late. Been watching the Olympics from about 7 p.m. till midnight - time differences - not a good thing in this case. So tempting to get spoiled about events that have happened in Beijing, but have yet to air in the U.S.A.

Anyway, I was soooo happy for Nastia Liukin for winning the Women's Gymnastics All-Around. I was rooting for her, so I'm glad she pulled through and snagged the gold medal. Despite the scoring seeming to go against the two Americans (Nastia & Shawn Johnson), they managed to get a 1-2. Yay. :-) Nastia was almost perfect on every routine...I love how she stuck the landings so well. And I don't watch gymnastics really, but you have to admit - it is a fun sport to watch especially at the Olympic level. :)

I *loved* all of the floor exercises...mostly because of the different pieces of music played during each of them. Even though some of the gymnasts weren't that great, it was fun listening to the music. Good music selection in the 'The Ritz' (I love that song) by the Russian, I believe?

So I'm just really excited and ecstatic that Nastia won. I was tearing up just a bit when she found out she won the gold. And when she stood up on that podium...third American to win that competition. A big thumbs up. :-)

Here ends my squeeing post...:P
