I love them both. But Doctor Who fandom is a mammoth compared to Merlin fandom...I wish it weren't so...the best thing to do now is hope that Merlin makes a good showing. Or who knows, maybe Merlin fans will make it happen.

For me, I'd probably go for Merlin just because I'm more involved in Merlin fandom and I have to give props to one of the characters who is in most of my fics now. ;)

But I'd be happy with Eleven winning too...he deserves it after the uncertainty and doubt about him prior to S5. And Matt Smith did awesomely in S5 as the Doctor, proving naysayers wrong. :D

Aw damn, I was hoping it wouldn't come to this. I already was sad that it was Scully vs Eleven and Annie vs Merlin.

But it's so much fun, I love to look at all the campaigns, some of them are brilliant. And I've been collecting gifs like crazy *g*

I hoped it wouldn't come to this either. But I had a feeling when they both won in Round 2 that they would be up against each other. Annie vs. Merlin was hard for me too -- they totally would be BFFs with each other.

I honestly have no idea what to do. I wanted to vote for Eleven but then I started feeling guilty *facepalm* So I haven't voted at all yet ...

At least voting for Chandler was easy :D

I feel guilty too. :( It's so hard when you love both characters. I voted for Merlin simply because I'm more active in Merlin fandom. Though I'm looking forward to new Doctor Who and the awesome TARDIS trio of Eleven/Amy/Rory.

Yeah, some of the other categories were easy. Even if I don't watch Fringe, I voted for Olivia because Buffy won the whole competition last year...better to give someone else a chance. :)

Merlin is currently far behind alas with about half of the votes Eleven has. Not surprising really.

Yes, it is! :( And I just found a gif that's making me reconsider my vote (the gif was of Nathan Young and Eleven in the same kind of epic pose...IDEK, I was like, "Nathan would totally vote for Eleven because of the immortality thing. And, er, they both say inappropriate things sometimes that makes others want to facepalm. :p" Then again, Merlin is also portrayed as immortal in Arthurian legend. Too bad we don't know that for sure with the BBC version of him. :().

I voted Merlin, of course, since he needs all the votes he can get. At the very least, I want Merlin to get a good percentage. And yes, it isn't surprising...disheartening definitely. :( Merlin = magic, unicorns and dragons...think of the unicorns! *sigh*

From what I know I think Nathan would vote for the Doctor too. It ouwld be nice to have him, Eleven and merlin in a bar at the end of the universe.

Poor Merlin lost but not as badly as I thought. Only 1/3 of the voted but he was up against the Doctor after all.

Yes, I hope that Merlin is immortal in the show too. :) With the whole Emrys thing being emphasized, he probably is.

Yes, I could see them in a bar hanging out. :P There was actually a fic where Merlin, Nathan and Jack Harkness met up at a bar to drink and chat every so often...spend time with fellow immortals and all. ;)

I'm grateful that Merlin made a good showing. He made it well over 1,000 votes, which is nice. :) Yes, it was the Doctor...hard to compete with him.

It looks like the Doctor's winning currently. I'm glad that it's matched up like this because Buffy won the whole competition last year...I'm sure some want to kick her out. It's always better to give another character a chance at the big win. :) And Eleven is a newcomer to this, so he deserves the win. :D

Oh god, my prediction sadly came true.
I'm probably going to vote for Merlin because as much as I love Doctor Who I'm not really involved with the fandom at all. And might as well help the underdog out.

Yes, I had the same bad feeling too. :( I almost wish Scully had won, so maybe it'd be Scully vs. Merlin...and Eleven/Doctor Who fans would've retaliated by voting against Scully. Oh well...

I agree -- better to help the underdog. :) Doctor Who was the fandom that got me using my LJ more...but that was during Ten's time as the Doctor. Since Merlin fandom is the fandom that I'm most active in now, I can't turn my back on Merlin. That wouldn't be right. :(

I know. :( It's so sad, but at least Merlin has won two rounds. He wasn't even in the competition in the last two years, so going by that, Merlin did all right. And maybe next year he'll do better...if he's not up against Eleven again of course. ;)

I agree. It is rather sad. Well, I'm just going to vote for Eleven now...I would've voted for him in the Sweet 16 if he hadn't been up against Merlin (♥ Merlin). I figure if Eleven gets into the final round and wins the whole competition, then I can say Merlin may have lost, but he lost to the champion, which is still pretty awesome.

I know! :( And Merlin lost. He still made a good showing. Winning two rounds is good progress. :) Maybe next year Merlin could make a comeback? *crosses fingers*
