Make way for Eleven: Tennant to leave Doctor Who

Some quotes from the BBC article (link below) that I found worth noting. :-)

All quotes said by David Tennant:

"I think it's better to go when there's a chance that people might miss you, rather than to hang around and outstay your welcome," he said.

"I don't ever want it to feel like a job, so I want to move on when it still feels exciting and fresh and that means I'll miss it."
"Now don't make me cry," he added. "I love this part, and I love this show so much that if I don't take a deep breath and move on now I never will, and you'll be wheeling me out of the Tardis in my bath chair."

It's now official: David Tennant won't be doing another full series of Doctor Who. He'll be out after the Christmas special and the four 2009 specials. I thought he would go on to at least do Series 5 and then leave, but looks like I was wrong.

It's sad that he'll leave, but I'm very ready to move on to another Doctor. This may sound weird, but I'm so ready to really dislike Eleven and then I'll stop watching the show. Coz I feel like I should move on to another show or something. Though with all the Doctor Who fanfic ideas I still have circulating in my head, I suppose that's a fruitless effort. I just truly hope that Eleven is a good actor and manages a believable chemistry with his companions (whether leaning toward romantic or friendship).

Although on the plus side, though Martha most likely won't appear on Doctor Who again, she's still there whether the show chooses to have her appear in an episode or not. So it's entirely reasonable for Eleven to see her from time to time. To catch up on old times and everything...;-)
