Crossovers are evil (sort of) ~ Progress on Doctor Who/Merlin fic

I have a little over 3,000 words written for the crossover fic where the Doctor and Martha visit Camelot. The somewhat sad part is that not much is really happening yet...well, the Doctor and Martha are at least *in* Camelot now. :P

Oh, and considering the circumstances of the problem, the Doctor, Martha and Morgana will be working together most often...as everyone else is um...compromised. And Merlin is AWOL. Is it wrong of me to be looking forward to writing Arthur in a deep melancholy?

And for those who watch "Legend of the Seeker", there will be a character who's heavily influenced by Jennsen. In my mind, the character even looks like her, but the Pristinely Ungifted thing won't be a part of it. It's mostly just Jennsen's personality. For those who don't know who Jennsen is...she's probably the sweetest person you could ever meet. The character in my story will be under a different name, but if anyone wants to know where I got my inspiration from. And no -- she will not be the villain of the story.

Here's an excerpt from what I've updated recently (not too exciting, but description is necessary after all in crossover fics):

~ * ~

One of the women, resting alone on one side of the blanket while the other two were opposite her, reminded Martha of Snow White. She had an elegant air about her even in sleep – her deep blue silken dress only accentuated the regality of her looks. Her long, dark hair and pale complexion were so reminiscent of Snow White that the sight almost left Martha wondering if they had stumbled upon a fairy tale world instead of Camelot.

The other two appeared to be a couple – of high standing, quite possibly royalty, judging by their rich clothing and the jewelry gracing the woman’s neck. The man was blond with chiseled good looks – a heroic aura about him she could say. He was just the sort of man who Martha fantasized being with, but then her delusion was always shattered by their personality not living up to their outward appearance. The pleasantly pretty woman had a darker complexion than the other woman, though it was lighter than Martha’s. She seemed like a warm person, but then again, Martha had little to go on, so these were all guesses on her part. She could be completely wrong.

I'm debating posting this in parts (2 or 3?) because I'm not sure how long this'll turn out to be. If it's too long to post in one LJ entry, then I'll just divide it up...

Well 3k words of progress is certainly better than no progress at all. AND it's much, much further along than I am in my own fic. So kudos! ;)

I like the snippet you posted. Alas, I am not as familiar with the Merlin-verse as I should be (but it is on my to-watch list).

Yes, that's true. At least it's something. :) Good luck with your fic. :)

Thank you. :) I have a little introduction before the Merlin characters come in. Hopefully it should be helpful. Either way, the fic is set in the future, when Arthur's king (while he's a prince on the show) so knowledge of the show isn't necessary. The fic dips into Arthurian legend a bit (with who Arthur marries), except for making Morgana evil.
