The Turning Point is complete! ♥
So my goal to finish this by the spring has been achieved. :P With the mountain of snow outside, it's most definitely still winter here. Currently the fic is at my beta to help weed out any unfortunate mistakes (I've already caught a few after I sent it over...*oh, brain :P*)
I'm thinking of doing a fic for the merlinxarthur fanfic challenge. It'll involve the picture of the castle and the black rose with that drop of blood. They go together well, don't they? :P
The title of the fic will be, "The Immortal Merlin, The Spectre of Death and The Magical Wardrobe" (going off "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe"). The premise is basically Arthur and Merlin (about a year since Arthur has become King, so the magic has been revealed, all is well on that front) going inside this wardrobe.
Arthur thinks it's a daft idea because what's the point of going inside a wardrobe? But Merlin insists, so Arthur caves eventually. And then they discover that the wardrobe leads to Avalonia -- this world I mention in "The Turning Point." It'll be a bit cracky...yes, despite the "spectre of death" being in the title, it'll be a bit not so serious. *whistles*
Hopefully I'll get it written in time.
Oh! And here's a final banner that I made for "The Turning Point" with the only text being the title.

The summary is:
After Merlin reveals his magic to him, Arthur reacts badly. Yet Arthur’s still unsure about what to do about Merlin. That night, Arthur sees Merlin in a new light. By night's end, Arthur is left with an experience he will never forget.

It's sort of going off of Dickens' A Christmas Carol as a basis. But Arthur meets two incarnations of Merlin instead (and the original, but much older version of Merlin at the start who tells him who Arthur will meet). And then the third 'ghost' is Death, but Arthur doesn't find out Death's true identity...luckily, the readers discover Death's identity in a scene where Arthur isn't present.
The two incarnations Arthur meets is the first female incarnation of Merlin to be born (in 1507). Then Merlin's incarnation who was born in 1957. He's rather unique compared to the other Merlins. These two incarnations are the ones in the big pictures on the banner since Arthur interacts with them the most.

Anyway I like the idea, and I'm curious to read how you will manage to make them be Merlin.

The woman is Olivia Hussey as Juliet in the 1968 film, "Romeo and Juliet." She was a lucky find for me as I was having trouble finding the right person to be that female Merlin. Her name is Artemis in my story.
I hope I managed to succeed in making them be Merlin too. Although, granted, Merlin has been reincarnated a lot of times, so these incarnations don't just have the original Merlin's memories to deal with. There are more lives after that, so that allows for some playing room. The exception would be Merlin's first incarnation who would just have the original Merlin's memories, but he isn't in this story. :(
Still, I hope I got the general Merlin-ness across. :)

Although you pointed out in one of your comments that the orignal Merlin--our Merlin-- isn't in the story. Which...suddenly made me sad! So many Merlins, but not ours. But I think that's a good thing, because it allows us to sympathize even more with Arthur, who's been inundated with all these Merlins, but not his...
Love the final version of the banner, too! And your new fic about Arthur and Merlin going through the wardrobe into Avalonia sounds Awesome. Sauce. I love post-Kingship and Magic Reveal fic! \o/ And it will be the old team, lol, Arthur doesn't know how good he has it with only one Merlin...

I suppose it was a bit misleading when I said Merlin's first incarnation -- by that I meant the first time Merlin is *reborn* after his original life in Camelot. The original Merlin would always be labeled as the "original Merlin." I'm sorry for the mix-up. The earliest reincarnated Merlin would be Edmund in this story, I believe, since he was born in the 1400s.
I'm glad you like the final version of the banner. :)
I've already begun writing the wardrobe fic. I made the reason why Arthur and Merlin go hide in the wardrobe as needing to get away from a drunk/tipsy and horny Gwaine (he's eager for a threesome, you know *cough*). And then they discover that the wardrobe leads to another world...
Luckily, the wardrobe fic will have Merlin spending most of his time interacting with Nathan!Merlin. Arthur spends his time with Caspian!Merlin. I felt like being nice to Arthur. ;)

Hooray! Actually, now that I think about it, of course original Merlin is in the story, because otherwise the entire plot would sort of have no point, what with the whole thing being about Arthur's change of heart about magic. Duuuh/whups/sorry I apparenly forgot the entire plot, I was so enchanted by all the Merlins! x)
