S4.4: The Sontaran Strategem
This was the episode I've been waiting for, and I'm excited to see Martha back. Wish that she had more airtime, but she looked lovely in the episode. I really liked how her hair looked. I'm glad that she has moved on with Tom - although the Ten/Martha in me is a bit disappointed with that info. I knew it was coming though, but I do wonder if Tom didn't remember "The Year That Never Was" then doesn't that complicate their relationship a bit? After all, Martha only went for him because of his actions in that year. But I'm sure since it's been a year after Martha left - that she managed to connect with him on some level. Cute conversation between Donna and Martha about Tom - Ha! Bet The Doctor didn't see that coming - he deserved it too - especially after his "she fancied me" comment.
Martha was awesome as a part of UNIT - loved seeing her in action. And they cloned her too! I thought it was just a rumor, but looks like it was a spoiler. All the same, I'm glad I didn't know for sure because it took me by surprise, which is always nice. I think she'll be able to fool the Doctor & Donna for a bit - her clone acted pretty convincingly. Hopefully the Doctor figures out what's up fast with her! He better after getting to know her for a whole season.
I suppose it would be wishful thinking that Martha and the Doctor would have a proper conversation about everything before Martha leaves for good. An proper appreciation speech like the one he gave Donna would be great. I thought that speech he gave Donna was a bit overboard just because as far as I know, she hasn't saved his life yet or anything. She's only been with him for less than a handful of adventures! The Doctor was definitely stringing words together - he probably felt that he should make up for his lack of expressed appreciation for Martha, so he loaded it all on Donna - even though she hasn't really done anything yet!
As a side note, I do like the fact that Donna has Gramps in on what she's been doing and what the Doctor is about. It's refreshing after Martha not really having a family member early on in her time on the show to talk to about what she's seen. Maybe Tish could have been the person. But I suppose it didn't matter much because in the end, her whole family got in on the act - although wish it didn't have to be in such a negative way.
Anyway, getting off topic here - I thought the cliffhanger was evil - as all cliffhangers should be. Can't wait to see clone!Martha meet up with the Doctor. Oh, and I forgot to mention that Ross, the UNIT guy, is pretty cool and I *hope* he doesn't die!

Oh totally. I remember thinking, 'hey, save some of that for Martha!' Although maybe the Doctor is finally learning to--gasp!--talk about his feelings for the person he's with with the person he's with, instead of angsting about it to subsequent Companions!
Good point about Tom--weird, someone loving you for doing things you can't remember. :) And aww, good 'ol Gramps, I love the choices they made to put him in the know in a positive way. They better not kill him off, I swear to God...
R.I.P, Ross. :(
